KJCCC Men's Basketball Back To Six Teams Featured In Latest NJCAA Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Week 10 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Week 10 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – More changes among Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools have taken place with last week’s thrilling results leading to more shuffling in the latest NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Men’s Basketball top 25 polls for Week 10 of the 2024-25 season.
Five teams are ranked this week with a sixth team receiving votes for the second time in the past three weeks with the NJCAA Division 1 poll featuring four KJCCC schools with the remaining two being part of the NJCAA Division 2 poll. Three of the six teams in the rankings are ranked in the top 10 as the conference continues to see nightly results lead to the changes that take place each week in the polls.
A pair of upsets in KJCCC Division 1 play last week has led to a pair of changes in the poll as Cowley College falls four spots to number nine this week after dropping a road decision at Dodge City before bouncing back with a big home win over Barton. The Tigers maintain a half game lead over Coffeyville in the KJCCC standings for the top spot in the conference with the Red Ravens moving up two spots this week up to number 10 following a road win at Independence in their only action of the week last week ahead of big home matchups this week with Hutchinson and Garden City. Butler also sees their ranking move down with a three-spot drop after falling at home to Dodge City last week with the Conquistadors being responsible for both drops in the polls following back-to-back wins over ranked opponents. The Grizzlies next opponent is number 22 Barton as the Cougars are unchanged from a week ago after a win over Cloud County and road loss to Cowley with three of the next four games for BCC being at home.
Johnson County continues to hold their number 10 ranking in the NJCAA Division 2 poll as the Cavaliers finished the first half of the KJCCC D2 conference slate with a perfect 7-0 mark to improve to 19-3 overall after wins over Fort Scott and Hesston. KCKCC is back in the mix as a team receiving votes following last week’s wins over Allen and Neosho County with the Blue Devils one game back of Johnson County in the KJCCC D2 standings.
One non-conference game is on the schedule for Monday night with Highland hosting Metropolitan Community College to finish their non-conference slate ahead of a busy Wednesday night schedule with 10 games set to take place. Wednesday night’s action features a ranked matchup between Butler and Barton in D1 action while Coffeyville hosts Hutchinson in a battle of two of the top five teams in the conference standings in Red Ravens head coach Jay Herkelman’s 1,000th game at the helm of Coffeyville. Another eight games are on the schedule for Saturday including a battle of the top two teams in the KJCCC D2 standings with Johnson County hosting KCKCC to cap off the week’s action.
