Tamara JonesGarden City Community College 6’ Sophomore Prosser, WA Jones had a big part of getting Garden City back on track with two wins on the week. In the game against Seward County she scored a majority of her points in the second half while the Broncbusters were making a comeback from 17 points down to win by nine. That stretch included hitting a number of free throws down the stretch to put the game out of reach. Saturday Jones put up another solid performance as she led Garden to a 19 point victory over rival Dodge City. Led the Busters in scoring and rebounding and also helped lead a defensive performance that held Dodge City to just 43 points on the night. Weekly Statistics |
A.J. SpencerHutchinson Community College 6'3" 200 Sophomore Shawnee, KS Sophomore guard A.J. Spencer helped the No. 1 Blue Dragons answer a huge challenge on Saturday as he led a late HCC surge in a victory over Cloud County. With HCC leading by only seven points with 7:30 to play, Spencer scored 14 points in a 22-10 run to close out the game. Spencer posted his third double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hutchinson vs. the Thunderbirds. For the week, Spencer averaged 22.5 points per game, shooting 71.4 percent from the field and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line. Spencer also averaged 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocked shots in two games last week. Weekly Statistics |
