Jasmine PattersonHutchinson Community College 6' Sophomore Frisco, TX Sophomore Jasmine Patterson posted her third double-double of the season and had a career high in steals to lead No. 1 Hutchinson past Seward County on Wednesday. She followed that performance with another strong game in a win against Dodge City, extending the Lady Dragons’ win streak at the Sports Arena to 76 games. Patterson had 16 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals in a 28-point victory over the Saints. Patterson had 16 points, seven rebounds, two steals and three blocked shots against Dodge City. She moved into ninth place on Hutchinson’s career blocked shots list. For the week, Patterson averaged 16.0 points and 9.5 rebounds. She shot 50 percent from the field. Edson AvilaSeward County Community College 6'10” 225 Sophomore Bronx, NY Avila was about as good as he could have been this week as the Saints took on a brutal Jayhawk West Conference road schedule at #1 Hutchinson and at #19 Barton. Wednesday against the Dragons, Avila kept Seward in the game, going a perfect 9 for 9 from the field, good for 20 points against the nations #1 team while also grabbing a team high 8 rebounds. Saturday Avila was equally as good in the Saints 71-60 upset win over #19 Barton, scoring 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting and pulling down 5 boards.
