Monte was spectacular for the Lady Saints in a pair of wins this week.  Wednesday against Colby the freshman guard scored 13 points on 6 of 10 shooting and had 3 steals in Seward’s win over the Lady Trojans.  Friday she backed it up with a career high 27 points on 10 of 17 shooting in a Lady Saints road win over the Pratt Beavers.  On the week she averaged 20 points per game while shooting 59% from the field.

Sophomore Kaheem Ransom stepped up this week to lead the Saints to a pair of Jayhawk West Conference wins to remain in the race for a league title.  Ransom scored 19 points and had 6 rebounds Wednesday in the Saints 67-60 win over the Colby Trojans and nailed 6 three pointers in a 25 point effort against Pratt in the Beaverdome on Friday.  On the week the guard from Wichita averaged 22 points 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

JCCC sophomore DaShawn averaged 19.0 pionts, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while leading the Lady Cavaliers to a pair of road win the East Jayhawk Conference. She began the week with a team high 13 points in a 67-33 win at KCKCC, and capped the week with 25 points in a key win over Cowley, giving JCCC sole possession of first place in the league standings. Harden hit 55 percent from the field on the week, including 42 percent from 3-point range. She also only missed one free throw attempt.

Algie Key did whatever it took to help his No. 25 ranked Barton Community College team get a couple of victories this past week.  In Wednesday’s victory over Dodge City, Key scored 30 points and grabbed 6 rebounds marking the third time this season and sixth in his career to surpass a thirty-point performance.  Saturday in the Cougars win over Garden City, Key adjusted his role to post a double-double ten point eleven rebound performance to go along with dishing out six assists.  For the week Key shot 50% from the field, 77.8% from the free throw line, and averaged 20 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest.
