Freshman Jamie Patrick had a career high point total against No. 11 Garden City and her second career double-double in a key road win at Butler.   Patrick was a perfect 8 of 8 shooting from the field in a career-high 21-point effort against No. 11 Garden City. Patrick hit four 3-point goals. Against Butler, Patrick had 18 points and 12 rebounds to power the top-ranked Lady Dragons to a key early-season conference road victory over the Grizzlies.   For the week, Patrick averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, shooting 63.6 percent overall and 58.3 percent from 3-point range.

Playing one guard short for the foreseeable future, freshman Kadeem Allen picked up the slack in two victories last week for the No. 2 Blue Dragons.   Allen hit several big shots late and scored 14 points with seven rebounds as Hutchinson outlasted Garden City in the Jayhawk West home opener. Then in a key road contest at Butler last Wednesday, Allen had a career-high 30 points with six rebounds and six assists to power the Blue Dragons to a 14-point victory against the Grizzlies.   For the week, Allen averaged 22 points per game, shooting 50.0 percent from the field overall and 3-point range (4-8). He also averages 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.

Ransom starred in a 3-0 week for the Saints, averaging 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.7 steals per game.  Monday against Colby he put in a workman like effort with 12 points and 5 rebounds in a Seward road win against the Trojans.  Wednesday he led the Saints to a blowout win over Pratt with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals, and put together another big performance on Saturday at Cloud County with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals to pace Seward over the T-Birds.
