NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Volleyball Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference continues to leave its mark on the latest NJCAA Volleyball polls as six teams are either ranked or receiving votes with four of the six ranked inside the top seven of their respective polls released on Monday, September 9th.
No changes to the top of the latest NJCAA Division 2 Volleyball poll sees Cowley as the top-ranked team after sweeping their lone match last week over Independence Community College. Another big weekend from Johnson County saw the Cavaliers win four matches including three over nationally ranked teams that was highlighted by a four-set win over number three ranked Parkland Community College to improve to 10-0. Also ranked in the latest NJCAA Division 2 Volleyball poll is Kansas City Kansas by moving up one spot to the number 23 ranking despite going 2-2 last week with wins over Rochester Tech and previously number nine-ranked Illinois Central along with losses to number eight ranked Iowa Central and number 16 ranked Rock Valley College.
Perfect weeks from both Barton Community College and Colby Community College to open KJCCC play for each school allow the Cougars to move up two spots to number four while the Trojans maintain their number seven ranking as both get set to take on Pratt in conference action this week. Barton is 10-0 and 1-0 in the KJCCC after sweeping Butler while Colby swept both Cloud County and Butler to improve to 9-1 on the year. The one addition for the KJCCC in the rankings is Dodge City Community College receiving votes in this week’s poll as the Conquistadors are now 8-6 following a 3-1 weekend at the Odessa College invitational with a four-set loss to number 18 Navarro College before winning matches against Temple College, Central Arizona Community College and number 15 New Mexico Junior College. DCCC goes to Cloud County for KJCCC action on Wednesday before heading to Sterling, Colorado for four matches including contests with number 11-ranked Utah State Eastern and number 17-ranked Western Nebraska Community College.
Saturday highlights the week for the KJCCC with four matches taking place between teams that are either ranked or receiving votes including a showdown between number four ranked Barton and number 10 ranked Indian Hills in Sterling, Colorado as part of the Northeastern Junior College Sheila Worley Invitational. In total, 57 matches will take place across the conference this week involving KJCCC schools.
